TRAINING IN HEALTHCARE

Varied, responsible, meaningful – all this is working in nursing care. With generalist care training, you’ll be able to embark on a professional career that is full of perspectives!

Requirements

These are the requirements you need to fulfil:

  • General secondary education (ideally with certificate recognition)
  • B2 language certificate
  • International vaccination card (required vaccinations: measles, recommended: hepatitis B)
  • Ideally, experience in care of the elderly and nursing care

Application process

Training starts: Autumn (01.08/ 01.09/ 01.10, depending on location)

Application phase:

  • Time spent abroad: 01.11. – 28.02.
  • Time in Germany: 01.11. – 31.03.
  • May close earlier if free places are taken

Please submit all these documents in full:

  • CV (complete and in tabular form; with dates for education/vocational training)
  • Letter of motivation
  • Copy of passport
  • Completely passed up-to-date German language certificate (at least B2, from a language teaching institute such as the Goethe Institute, TELC or ÖSD)
  • Certification of your education/school leaving certificate (in the original language and the German translation)
  • If applicable, application for recognition of certificate or, if available, German recognition of certificate
  • If available: Proof/certificate/confirmation of your experience in geriatric care/nursing
  • Do you already have an appointment at the embassy? If available: Confirmation of the appointment from the Germany embassy
  • If you are already living in Germany: (valid) residence permit and supplementary sheet for the residence permit
  • International vaccination card

Once the submitted documents have been checked, there will be an online interview to discuss the further steps. The application for your chosen position will then either be accepted or rejected.

The trainee’s tasks include the following:

  • If applicable, compile the documents for the recognition of certificates and forward them to the department Human Resources International department
  • Request an appointment at the embassy
  • Apply for an international vaccination card and certificate of good conduct

The employer’s tasks include the following:

  • Distribution to the facility and subsequent preparation of the employment contract and other documents
  • Enrolment at nursing school
  • If applicable, submission of the documents for the recognition of certificates
  • Travel to Germany and commence training
  • Send documents to trainee
  • Trainee submits all the documents at the embassy appointment
  • Visa issued

What does the training consist of:

  • Three years’ training (theory and practical), block lessons (several weeks of theory, following by several weeks of practical work)
  • Theory part at nursing school
  • Practical part with the training company (care facility)

Further assignments in every service area:

  • in a hospital
  • with outpatient care services
  • in psychiatric care
  • in the care of children and adolescents

Other specifics:

  • Salary: 1st year of training: € 1,190.69, 2nd year of training: € 1,252.07, 3rd year of training: € 1,353.38 (as of 2023)
    Average salary for trainees in Germany: € 1,028 (2022, BIBB)
  • Accommodation is available for a low rent
  • The Victor’s Group does not offer the accelerated process for trainees.
